The Mockingbird Foundation is pleased to announce another fundraiser to help raise funds for music education programs. Board member Charlie Dirksen will be running three races in February in honor of Kristen Godard and the Foundation’s Funding Committee (http://www.mockingbirdfoundation.org/funding/). Analyzing the hundreds of grant proposals the Foundation receives every year takes a great deal of time. The Board is enormously appreciative of this work and the other work performed by the Funding Committee. The Foundation has no
paid employees or staff and is run entirely by volunteers.

As part of this fundraising effort, Charlie will run a 5K (3.1 miles) this weekend on Sunday, February 3, in Golden Gate Park in San Francisco; a half-marathon (13.1 miles) in Vancouver, British Columbia, on February 10; and a 10K (6.2 miles) in downtown San Francisco as part of the city’s Chinese New Year festivities on February 17.

Despite their inestimable value, music education programs are often eliminated by school districts hoping to cut costs. These programs increasingly depend on grants from 501(c)(3) non-profit organizations like The Mockingbird Foundation in order to operate at all. Your support has already made a difference in the lives of countless children nationwide and will make a difference in the future.

We hope that you will make a tax-deductible donation in ANY amount.
Every dollar counts. Charlie will match up to the first $250 in donations received as part of this fundraiser. If you choose to donate, your donation will be fully tax-deductible. You may donate by mail or on-line, including by credit card, through our web page:

Sincerely,

THE MOCKINGBIRD FOUNDATION
