RUNNING FOR MOCKINGBIRD, WITH REUNION RUMORS IN MIND

There is certainly a lot to be excited about right now in the Phish community. The Mockingbird Foundation is thrilled by these events and, of course, by the prospect of Phish reuniting. Last year, the Foundation created the Phish Reunion Fund, which is to be disbursed as soon as possible after — and if — it is announced that Phish will perform one (or more) public show(s).

In honor of Phish, and in an effort to raise more money for children’s music education, Foundation Board Member Charlie Dirksen will run the San Francisco Half-Marathon on Sunday, August 3, his third run in support of music education for children. And, he’ll match the first $250 in donations!

Please consider donating to the Phish Reunion Fund in any amount. Every dollar counts and will support music education programs for children. The Foundation is a 501(c)(3) non-profit that has been operated by volunteers for more than ten years — there is no paid staff, or office. Your donation is fully tax-deductible.

If you wish to donate, you may do so by credit or debit card or by clicking on the “Make a Donation” button below. Or, you can write a check made payable to The Mockingbird Foundation and mail it to The Mockingbird Foundation, c/o The Godards, 6948 Luther Circle, Moorpark, CA 93021.

If you’re running any marathons (or parts thereof) and would like to help Mockingbird, and get a boost from folks pulling for you during the run, we’d love to hear from you. This is Charlie Dirksen’s second run for the Foundation. David Madden will run in the ING New York City Marathon in November, also in support of Mockingbird.

We thank you for your continued support of our unique organization, which we believe was the first 501(c)(3) organization founded by fans of a rock band to raise funds in support of music education programs nationwide. We encourage anyone interested in helping us fundraise in the future to contact Ellis Godard, the Foundation’s Executive Director, at [email protected], with your ideas.

Sincerely,

The Mockingbird Foundation
