The Mockingbird Foundation of Soquel has awarded Westlake Elementary School a $5,000 grant. The grant will help support a new program developed by Westlake band director, Dan Bloch, and to purchase several new musical instruments. The Mockingbird supports both traditional and innovative music programs. In August, the foundation granted $116,000 to 26 different organizations. The organization was founded in 1997 by fans of the band Phish.
